Samsung’s One UI 6.1.1-based update for the Galaxy S24 series is now available widely. After South Korea and the US, the big feature update is rolling out to the latest flagships in Europe, India, China, and other global markets. The company will soon start pushing it to other eligible models. The update brings a host of goodies that Samsung introduced with the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Flip 6.
The One UI 6.1.1 update for the Galaxy S24 series goes global
Last week, Samsung released the One UI 6.1.1 update for the Galaxy S24 trio in South Korea. The company said it will roll out the new One UI version to the latest flagships in the US and Europe on Monday, September 9. True to its words, the company has begun the rollout in those two markets and expanded the coverage to other regions, including Asia.
The Galaxy S24’s One UI 6.1.1 update comes with the firmware build version AXH7 (last four characters). Depending on your device model and country, the OTA (over the air) file size may vary. For instance, the download file for the Ultra model weighs around 2.8GB in most markets but over 3GB in India. The changelog is the same, though.
This update contains a host of Galaxy AI features, camera enhancements, visual changes, and other system stability, reliability, and functional improvements. In Korea, One UI 6.1.1 also brought the September 2024 security patch. Samsung hasn’t bundled the new SMR (Security Maintenance Release) in other regions, though. The phones remain on the August patch.
The September SMR should be available to the Galaxy S24 trio with a separate update later this month. It contains 67 vulnerability fixes, some of which are critical patches. Samsung will also gradually expand One UI 6.1.1 to other eligible Galaxy devices, including the Galaxy S23, Galaxy Z Fold 5, Flip 5, Galaxy Tab S9, and more.
