Samsung’s AI home appliances already offer smart ways to manage daily tasks. The company has now taken this experience to the next level with the upgraded Bixby. The voice assistant can understand what users mean, even in everyday conversations, while providing useful answers in daily life.

Bixby can now respond to user intent more accurately

Samsung has integrated the improved Bixby into its 2026 Family Hub, air conditioners, robot vacuums, water purifiers, and new washing machines (7-inch screen). Bixby can understand context from what you say and also from previous conversations. As a result, the assistant can provide more accurate and relevant responses.

This also eliminates the need to use specific function names or predefined commands. For example, Bixby understands the task well when you say, “Please clean the floor when the washing is finished.” The robot vacuum will automatically start cleaning after the washing machine finishes its process.

Furthermore, the upgraded Device Q&A feature lets you ask maintenance and troubleshooting questions. For example, instead of searching for manuals on the web, you can simply ask, “How do I clean the ice water dispenser?” The system provides voice answers and shows video instructions (though only on supported devices with screens).

Samsung has also introduced a new Open Q&A feature that connects Bixby to Perplexity AI. For the uninitiated, Perplexity is an AI-powered answer engine that provides real-time responses to your query. This allows you to ask everyday questions (such as travel suggestions and food ideas) and receive answers through appliances.

“Samsung Electronics’ Bixby is constantly evolving to enable users to converse naturally with each product and use them conveniently,” said Kim Yong-jae, Vice President of Samsung Electronics’ DA Business Division. “We will further advance Bixby and software functions so that Samsung’s AI appliances can serve as companions in the home.”
