It has been widely rumored that Samsung will introduce a new affordable foldable model this year. While the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy Z Flip 7 names are confirmed — unless Samsung makes a last-minute change — the upcoming budget model name has remained under wraps. Now, a fresh report sheds light on the naming, putting an end to months of speculation. Unsurprisingly, Samsung will call the device the Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE.

Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE name confirmed via NBTC ahead of possible July launch

If recent reports are accurate, Samsung may be gearing up to launch its first affordable foldable phone at the upcoming July Unpacked event alongside the usual foldable duo. So far, rumors have pointed to three different marketing names: Galaxy Z Flip FE, Galaxy Z Flip XE, and Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE. Now, thanks to the NBTC certification, we finally have confirmation.

As spotted by 91Mobile, Thailand’s NBTC website has listed a Galaxy smartphone bearing the model number SM-F761B. More importantly, the listing confirms the marketing name: Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE. Since this is the country’s regulatory body for broadcasting and telecommunications, the information in the certificate listing is likely correct.

Interestingly, the name of the affordable model aligns with our exclusive report published a few months ago. Thanks to OnLeaks, who not only predicted the name early but also provided detailed CAD renders and a 360-degree video of the Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE. Design-wise, the device looks almost identical to last year’s Galaxy Z Flip 6.

Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE

While official specifications are still under wraps, rumors suggest that the Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE may arrive as a rebadged Galaxy Z Flip 6 with changes in the processor segment. It could feature an in-house Exynos 2400 processor instead of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 found in the Galaxy Z Flip 6. That’s a smart move by the company, as it will help lower costs while making foldable devices more accessible to a wider audience.

Samsung is reportedly gearing up to launch the next Unpacked event on either July 9 or July 16. So, we should learn more details about the much-anticipated budget flip-style foldable smartphone in the coming days. Stay tuned.
