Samsung Wallet Gets Trips Feature for Seamless Travel Experience

Samsung continues to improve its digital ecosystem to make day-to-day tasks easier. The company’s Wallet app has now introduced a Trips feature that helps you organize and manage your travel plans in a single place. The feature will be available to eligible users this month in select regions, including the US.

Samsung Wallet now helps you enjoy a smoother journey

Samsung Wallet is a simple app that stores things like payment cards, ID cards, keys, and tickets. Thanks to the Trips feature, you now get faster access to key details during a journey. It brings eligible travel items together in a single view via a Trip timeline, based on factors such as time and location.

As such, you can manage a wide range of travel-related plans, including hotel bookings, flight itineraries, and car rentals. Trips also support tickets for buses, trains, theme parks, and sports events. Moreover, it lets you manually add itinerary items and memos to note down important details for your journey.

“Travel plans are often scattered across confirmations, apps and messages, and that creates friction at the exact moments people need clarity,” said Woncheol Chai, EVP and Head of Digital Wallet Team, Mobile eXperience (MX) Business at Samsung Electronics. “By bringing Trips to Samsung Wallet, we’re giving Galaxy users a single place to keep their trip details organized and stay one step ahead as their plans unfold.”

Speaking of security, you do not need to worry about whether your data is safe. Samsung Wallet uses the company’s security platform, Knox, to offer protections such as encryption and biometric authentication. This helps keep sensitive information secure, allowing only you to access it.

As for availability, Samsung Wallet will roll out the Trips feature in South Korea, the US, and the UK starting this month. The feature will ship with different app versions depending on the region. If you live in the US, make sure to update your app to version 6.4.97 or higher. For South Korea and the UK, the minimum required versions are 5.9.32 and 6.4.98, respectively.
