It’s Unpacked Day, and Samsung Takes Another Dig at Apple

Samsung continues to take playful digs at its arch-rival, Apple, ahead of its Galaxy Unpacked event. Just a day after mocking the iPhone’s photo editing limitations, the company has now taken a jab at low-light photography. Samsung also hints that we could see improvements in Nightography in the upcoming Galaxy S26 series.

Samsung mocks iPhone’s low-light camera ahead of Galaxy S26 launch

The final countdown for Galaxy Unpacked has officially begun (kicking off February 25 at 10 AM PT). As hype around the launch of the Galaxy S26 series intensifies, Samsung has shared a new promotional clip on X about night photography. The post reads, “Capturing big moments shouldn’t be a shot in the dark. Get ready to upgrade to the next level of Nightography. Can your phone do that?”

The short clip shows a proposal scene in which a woman tries to capture the moment with an iPhone. However, the photos do not turn out well due to poor lighting, pushing the couple to pose multiple times. The message is clear — iPhones can’t stand out in low-light photography.

For the uninitiated, Samsung’s Night Mode lets users capture brighter images in dark environments. The feature uses innovative AI multi-frame processing to create a single optimized photo. As such, we get reduced noise, improved brightness, and enhanced color accuracy in nighttime shots.

The latest clip also suggests that the Galaxy S26 series will bring substantial improvements in Nightography. In fact, the company has already hinted that its Galaxy AI will play a key role in improving low-light photography and video capabilities. There’s chatter that Galaxy S26 Ultra may feature the same 200MP sensor as its predecessor, but with a slightly wider aperture of around f/1.4. This setup may also increase light capture for even brighter shots.
