Samsung Still Plans to 4G Phones, New Model Coming in 2025

Samsung’s Galaxy A0x series has become popular in recent years, thanks to a superb balance of affordability and features. The latest model in the lineup, the Galaxy A06, comes in both 4G and 5G versions. It looks like Samsung won’t retire budget 4G phones anytime soon, as the Galaxy A07 also has a 4G variant.

Samsung to launch Galaxy A07 with 4G connectivity despite industry shift to 5G

While other OEMs are phasing out 4G models, Samsung wants to continue offering a 4G option in its affordable A-series lineup. This makes sense, as not all users around the world have access to 5G networks yet — 4G is still the preferred option for many. The 4G network will likely remain active for at least 5–6 more years, meaning you can safely buy a 4G phone in 2025.

Samsung recently received a Wi-Fi Alliance certification for its upcoming smartphone bearing model number SM-A075F/DS. The listing also confirms that it will launch as the Galaxy A07 and will support Wi-Fi a/b/g/n/ac and Wi-Fi Direct. It will run the Android operating system, probably ship with Android 16-based One UI 8.

More importantly, as the model number ends with F, it suggests the phone will have 4G connectivity. Note that Samsung is not only gearing up for the Galaxy A07 4G, but it should also offer a 5G version of the phone, just like the predecessor. This allows the company to cater to the entry-level smartphone segment regardless of connectivity.

Regarding specifications, we may not see major upgrades from its predecessor. It could feature a 6.7-inch LCD screen with a resolution of 720 x 1600 pixels, a 50MP main camera, a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, and a 5,000mAh battery. If Samsung follows the previous patterns, the Galaxy A07 could debut around August or September 2025. The Galaxy A06 launched on August 16, 2024, while the Galaxy A05 went official on September 25, 2023.
