Samsung appears to be ramping up preparations for its 2026 foldable lineup. Newly spotted model numbers and codenames in the GSMA IMEI database suggest that the company has at least three new foldables in the pipeline. Alongside the Galaxy Z Fold 8 and Flip 8, it is testing a mysterious third model. It should unveil all three devices in July or August this year.

Samsung’s 2026 foldables start surfacing on regulatory websites

We have known for a while that Samsung is working on three new foldables for 2026. The Galaxy Z Fold 8 bears the model number SM-F976, while the Flip 8 is SM-F776. Additionally, Samsung is testing a foldable with the model number SM-F771. It could be an affordable Fold or the passport-style Fold Wide, or something completely unknown yet.

While we wait for more information on it, the Galaxy Z Fold 8 and Flip 8 have surfaced on the IMEI database. The devices appeared with codenames Q8 and B8, respectively. The Fold 7 and Flip 7 were internally codenamed Q7 and B7, so things are perfectly in line with the previous generation. Expect iterative upgrades across the display, battery, and camera on the new models.

It’s also worth noting that the aforementioned third foldable has already appeared in the IMEI database. It surfaced under the codename H8, though that name does little to clarify what the device actually is. Until it shows up in additional certification listings, Samsung’s exact plans remain a mystery.

That said, recent reports suggest the company is developing a so-called Galaxy Fold Wide to compete directly with Apple’s first foldable iPhone, which is expected to adopt a similarly wide, tablet-like design. All three Samsung foldables are likely to debut in mid-2026, while Apple may enter the segment a few months later. Together, these launches could mark a turning point for foldables, pushing the category beyond niche experimentation and closer to true mass adoption.
