by | Mar 17, 2025 | Galaxy Xcover, News

Samsung has a couple of new Xcover series rugged Android smartphones in the works, the Galaxy Xcover 7 Pro and Galaxy Xcover 8 Pro. The latter recently appeared on multiple online platforms, revealing key pieces of information ahead of the official launch. We have confirmation that the phone runs on a Qualcomm processor and is slated to arrive in the US.

Galaxy Xcover 8 Pro key specs revealed ahead of launch

The Galaxy XCover 8 Pro recently appeared on the TÜV Rheinland certification site. The agency certified the upcoming Samsung phone with four different model numbers: SM-G766B, SMG766U, SM-G766U1, and SM-G766W. These respectively denote the handset’s international variant, the US carrier-locked variant, the US unlocked variant, and the Canadian variant.

While the listing didn’t reveal anything more, it more or less confirms that Samsung will launch the Galaxy Xcover 8 Pro globally, including in the US and Canada. The unlocked US version also appeared on Geekbench, revealing information about its chipset, RAM, and OS. The device runs on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 processor paired with the Adreno 810 GPU.

This is a mid-range chipset clocked at 2.50GHz. Samsung will offer at least 6GB of RAM here, though we may also get an 8GB RAM variant. The phone will ship with Android 15, of course, likely with One UI 7.0 on top. It looks like Samsung has scrapped plans for One UI 7.1. Even One UI 7.1.1 may not exist this year, with the upcoming foldables potentially shipping with One UI 7.0.1.

It’s unclear when Samsung plans to launch the Galaxy Xcover 8 Pro. As mentioned above, it also has the Galaxy Xcover 7 Pro in the pipeline. Time will tell whether the company will debut both models at the same time or if it has other plans. Leaks have been few and far between, but we should get to learn more about these devices closer to their official launch.
