Instead of rolling it out soon, reports now claim the company plans to keep pushing beta updates to the Galaxy S24 until April. Yes, if a new rumor is accurate, next week’s Beta 4 may not be the last one. Samsung allegedly also plans Beta 5 and Beta 6.
Samsung to release One UI 7.0 beta updates until April
Look, we get it — One UI 7.0 is a major update, packed with new features and AI enhancements, alongside a massive UI overhaul. Samsung took its sweet time to develop and refine the new version. It is already behind the usual schedule for a whole four months. At this point, its update cycle is starting to feel sluggish compared to its competition.
Meanwhile, Samsung keeps dragging its feet, making us wait even longer for software that should have been ready by now. It recently confirmed that the Galaxy S24 series will receive a new beta update next week. It already feels like an unplanned move, as almost six weeks have passed since the third beta arrived.
Now, two different sources on X say Samsung also plans Beta 5 and Beta 6 for the 2024 flagships. Worse yet, those are scheduled to arrive a month apart. The final beta is allegedly planned for April, after which the company will roll out the stable version. Going by this timeline, One UI 7.0 could roll out sometime in May.
And let’s talk about the bigger issue — if Samsung keeps delaying One UI 7.0, that means One UI 7.1 (or whatever minor update comes next) will be pushed further back. Worse, this could affect One UI 8’s timeline, which will be based on Android 16. At this rate, will One UI 7.0 even finish rolling out before Android 16 is announced? That’s unacceptable.
Samsung, your fans are patient, but this is testing limits. We don’t need an endless beta cycle. We need a stable One UI 7.0 update — now.
