Samsung is reportedly working to bring an AI assistant inside the Galaxy Store and Theme Store. This will give users a more intuitive way to discover apps, games, and themes. The feature is currently hidden in the first One UI 8.5 beta, meaning it isn’t active yet but is under development.

Earlier this year, Samsung introduced an AI-powered search experience in the Settings app with One UI 8 on the Galaxy S25 series. That feature lets users type natural sentences like “how to change my screen refresh rate?” and get helpful results. Now it looks like Samsung wants to bring the same intelligent, conversational search style to the Galaxy Store and Theme Store as well.

As you can see in the screenshot below (shared by SamMobile), Samsung has added an AI assistant inside the Galaxy Store. If you tap the search icon, you will see an AI-powered search bar at the bottom of the screen with colorful gradient text. This will let you find an app or game without knowing its name by simply describing what you want.

However, it’s unclear when Samsung plans to officially enable the AI assistant in the Galaxy Store and Theme Store. The company may roll out the feature in the future One UI 8.5 beta versions. If not, it may debut the feature with stable One UI 8.5, expected to run on the upcoming Galaxy S26 series first. There’s even a possibility that the firm could scrap the feature if it doesn’t meet expectations during testing.

Meanwhile, Samsung has introduced a host of improvements in the first One UI 8.5 beta. For example, the updated Photo Assist feature allows continuous AI-powered editing. Likewise, Quick Share now comes with face recognition. If you want to try the new software early, you need to join the beta program through the Samsung Members app. Note that only Galaxy S25 series users living in select regions are eligible to participate at this time.
