Samsung Quietly Hints Galaxy Tab S8 Series Won’t Get One UI 8.5

Recently, Samsung’s official One UI 8.5 rollout schedule for Hong Kong confirmed that the Galaxy S22 series, Galaxy Z Fold 4, and Galaxy Z Flip 4 will not receive One UI 8.5. Now, Samsung appears to have indirectly indicated that the Galaxy Tab S8 series may miss out on the update as well.
Galaxy Tab S8 Series removed from One UI 8.5 support list
As spotted by Alfatürk, Samsung’s Camera Assistant app page on the Galaxy Store previously listed the Galaxy Tab S8 lineup among the devices that would support the app with One UI 8.5. However, the company has now quietly removed the Tab S8 series from that list.

What does this mean? While Samsung has not officially commented on the matter, the change suggests that the Galaxy Tab S8 series may no longer be part of the company’s One UI 8.5 plans. This aligns with recent reports claiming that Samsung has halted One UI 8.5 development for several 2022 Galaxy devices.
According to the information, Samsung may skip the One UI 8.5 update for its 2022 devices entirely, including the Galaxy S22 series, Galaxy Z Fold 4, Galaxy Z Flip 4, Galaxy A33, Galaxy A53, Galaxy A73, and now potentially the Galaxy Tab S8 series as well. If that turns out to be the case, One UI 8 would remain the final major feature update for these devices, although they should continue receiving security updates.
Samsung has not yet published official One UI 8.5 rollout schedules for major markets such as Korea, India, and European regions. However, based on the information currently available, it may be best for owners of these 2022 Galaxy devices to keep expectations in check.
That said, if your Galaxy device launched after 2022 and has already received One UI 8, there is a good chance that it will also receive the One UI 8.5 update. Samsung is moving through the rollout at a solid pace, so remaining eligible devices should start picking up the update soon.
