After quietly disappearing from shelves a few months ago, the Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE is back in stock in the US. The company has resumed sales of its first-ever Fan Edition foldable via its online store. The device is available in 128GB and 256GB storage options, starting at its original price of $899.
Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE is back in stone, but you may not want to buy it
The Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE is essentially a rebranded Flip 6 with a newer SoC. Samsung launched it alongside the Flip 7 last year, offering a cheaper alternative to anyone finding the new model too pricey. However, at $899, it was never a wise pick. One could find the Flip 6 at lower prices, or even the Flip 7 around the same range, with some deals.
It always felt like the Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE didn’t have a clear place in the lineup. So when Samsung quietly pulled it from its website in the US and several other markets, it didn’t raise many eyebrows. The move made it seem like the device had been shelved for good, but that’s not the case. Samsung has now restocked the phone, possibly as a way to clear remaining inventory ahead of new launches later this year.
Unfortunately, at $899, the Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE is still hard to recommend. If you want to try a Flip phone on a budget, you may be better off picking a refurbished Flip 6 (or even a brand new one could cost less with some deals). And if you can stretch your budget a little, the Flip 7 is miles better. You can check out current deals on Samsung’s Flip phones below.
