Samsung may not bring a major leap with its Galaxy A57 5G, but it introduces meaningful improvements that make the phone more attractive. One such upgrade is the support for Wi-Fi 6E connectivity. This makes it the first non-flagship Galaxy phone to support the advanced Wi-Fi standard.

Wi-Fi 6E expands beyond flagships with Galaxy A57 5G

Samsung previously limited Wi-Fi 6E support to its flagship devices. Now, with the Galaxy A57 5G, the company has brought this feature to the premium mid-range segment. As a result, more Galaxy phone users can now enjoy faster and more reliable connectivity.

For the uninitiated, Wi-Fi 6E is an extension of Wi-Fi 6 that support for the 6GHz frequency band. Of course, it still has the existing 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands. This new band is less crowded, which helps reduce interference from nearby networks. Simply put, it offers smoother performance in areas where many people are using Wi-Fi simultaneously.

“It’s like extending the road from two lanes to four lanes, opening more connectivity to be utilised,” said Samsung in a blog post. Note that to take advantage of Wi-Fi 6E, you will need a compatible router that supports the 6GHz band.

Apart from connectivity, the Galaxy A57 5G also brings improvements in performance and design. It uses the latest Exynos 1680 chipset for improved CPU and GPU performance. The phone comes with a slimmer, lighter design than its predecessor, measuring 6.9mm thick and weighing 179 g. Furthermore, the company has improved durability with an IP68 rating for water and dust resistance.

Overall, the Galaxy A57 5G brings meaningful upgrades where it matters. As for price, the phone starts at $549.99 for the base configuration (8GB/128GB). It will be available for purchase in the US starting April 9, 2026. You’ll find an unlocked version at Samsung Experience Stores and on the official website.
