Samsung Galaxy A26 Nears Launch, Key Specs Revealed Early

by | Jan 17, 2025 | Galaxy A, News

Samsung’s 2025 mid-range lineup is shaping up to be impressive. With six years of updates, 45W charging, and Galaxy AI support, the Galaxy A56 and Galaxy A36 are poised to offer excellent value. While the more affordable Galaxy A26 might miss out on charging and AI upgrades, it should receive the same extended software support. Adding to the anticipation, this budget phone just cleared several regulatory hurdles, signaling a nearing launch.

Galaxy A26 passes multiple regulatory checks ahead of launch

Over the past couple of days, Samsung’s Galaxy A26 surfaced on multiple regulatory websites. The device has been certified by the Indian government’s BIS (Bureau of Indian Standards), Bluetooth certification agency Bluetooth SIG, and independent testing firm TUV Rheinland. The certified model numbers include SM-A266B, SM-A266B/DS, SM-A266M, SM-A266M/DS, SM-A266USM-A266U1, and SM-A266V.

This confirms a global launch for the phone, including carrier-locked, unlocked, and Verizon versions for the US. The Galaxy A26 will be a 5G-enabled smartphone with dual-SIM support in some regions. First spotted by MySmartPrice, these certifications also reveal a few key specs. Additionally, the publication discovered a couple of case listings confirming its camera design.

While camera specs are still a mystery, we now know that the Galaxy A26 supports 25W wired charging and likely packs a 4,700mAh battery. The device is expected to sport a 6.7-inch display with an FHD+ resolution. It should be an AMOLED panel featuring a 120Hz refresh rate. Samsung’s in-house Exynos 1280 processor might power the phone, paired with up to 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. The handset runs Android 15 out of the box.

The upcoming budget phone allegedly has a dimension of 164 x 77.5 x 7.7 mm and weighs 209 grams. Samsung might launch it in the coming months. As mentioned above, the company also has the Galaxy A56 and A36 in the pipeline, both with 45W charging. It remains to be seen if all three models go official together.
