Samsung is on a roll today. Alongside releasing the One UI 7.0 beta update and the March security patch for multiple devices, the company has also rolled out LockStar for One UI 7.0. Previously, Samsung stated that LockStar needed additional development time due to “major structural changes” in the new update.
One UI 7.0 users can now download LockStar to customize their lock screen
Samsung’s Good Lock suite saw a major revamp in One UI 7.0, which itself is a massive update. The company redesigned the main app as well as all individual modules to match the system-wide theme and UI. It also introduced new features, with Home Up getting advanced animation customizations. Samsung integrated some Home Up features into the main One UI home screen settings.
LockStar, meanwhile, has been missing from One UI 7.0 devices ever since Samsung dropped the first beta build for the Galaxy S24 series in December. After several months of waiting, it’s finally here. Version 7.0.00.14 of LockStar is compatible with all Galaxy devices running One UI 7.0. This update was released recently and will reach eligible users globally in the coming days (link below).
As you might expect, the new version brings tons of new features. Samsung now lets you access LockStar directly from the lock screen editor. You can also freely place the clock, music widget, notifications, and other stuff anywhere on the lockscreen. Overall, it’s a massive update for Galaxy users who love customizing their lock screen.
With LockStar now available for One UI 7.0, NavStar remains the only major Good Lock module lacking Android 15 support. Hopefully, Good Lock engineers are working on making it available soon. If you use a Galaxy phone with One UI 7.0, you can download LockStar from the Galaxy Store. If it’s still missing for you, wait a few days and check again.
