Good Lock’s One UI 7.0 Update Progress: LockStar Needs More Time

by | Feb 6, 2025 | News, Samsung Apps

Samsung is nearing full One UI 7.0 compatibility for Good Lock. It recently updated several modules to add One UI 7.0 support. However, a few are still not ready, including LockStar. The company says the Good Lock team needs more time to make LockStar compatible with the new One UI version.

Samsung is working on One UI 7.0 support for Good Lock’s LockStar

Good Lock offers a wide range of customization tools for Galaxy devices. There are 22 modules in total, letting users customize everything from the lock screen and home screen to task manager, quick panel, notification tray, sound manager, navigation bar, app icons, themes, system UI colors, S Pen pointer, keyboard, and more.

The One UI 7.0 update brings a major UI overhaul and several new features to Good Lock. Samsung has announced new functions for almost every module. Some of the promised updates have already been rolled out globally, while others are just starting to reach users in some markets.

However, LockStar still isn’t compatible with One UI 7.0. According to Samsung, the Good Lock team has made major structural changes to LockStar this time. As such, they need more time to properly test the update and ensure a stable performance. LockStar is used to customize the lock screen on Galaxy phones.

Samsung may release the One UI 7.0 update for LockStar in the coming weeks. The company has yet to push the stable One UI 7.0 build to older models — it debuted with the Galaxy S25 series. There are rumors about the update arriving later this week but nothing official yet.

The Galaxy S24 series, which already has access to One UI 7.0 beta in some regions, should be the first to receive this update. Samsung will then gradually roll out the new version to other eligible devices. We will let you know when the rollout begins. You can also manually check for updates from the Settings app.
