Samsung recently announced an expansion of its One UI 7.0 beta program. The Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Flip 6 could receive the first beta update anytime now, with several other devices to follow later this month. While the company didn’t name the Galaxy S22 series in its official announcements, it might be preparing beta updates for the 2022 flagships as well.
Galaxy S22’s first One UI 7.0 beta build appears online
Over the past few weeks, we have spotted One UI 7.0 beta builds for several Galaxy devices on Samsung’s servers. Unsurprisingly, the company has confirmed beta updates for most of those, including the Galaxy Z Fold 6, Flip 6, Galaxy S23 series, Galaxy Tab S10 series, and Galaxy A55. The two foldables are supposed to receive their first beta update on Thursday, March 6. The rest will join the party later this month.
It appears Samsung also plans to release One UI 7.0 beta updates for the Galaxy S22 series. X user @tarunvats33 recently spotted a beta build for the 2022 flagships on Samsung’s servers. The build carries firmware version ZYC2 and could arrive as the first beta update. The Korean firm hasn’t yet confirmed anything though, as the official list doesn’t include the Galaxy S22 lineup.
As far as the stable One UI 7.0 release is concerned, Samsung plans to begin the rollout in April. The Galaxy S24 series should lead the line, followed by the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Flip 6. The company should then cover other beta-eligible modes before expanding the update to the remaining devices. It will push One UI 7.0 to several dozen smartphones and tablets, so the rollout may extend till May or even June.
