Samsung has shut down its Samsung Max VPN service today, June 15, 2026. The app helped users remain private online while saving mobile data through compression and usage controls. It now displays a farewell message to users confirming the discontinuation of all services.

Samsung Max VPN now loses VPN, data saving, and privacy services

Launched in 2018, Samsung Max VPN served as a combined VPN and data-saving app for Galaxy users. It looks like the Korean firm now sees less value in the service (or adoption rate). As such, it decided to discontinue the app. Now, when you open the app, you will see a banner that reads “VPN, data saving, and privacy will stop on June 15.”

In fact, both the Google Play Store and Galaxy Store listings for Samsung Max VPN also show a service shutdown notice. “Thank you for being with us over the years,” the company wrote. “Your support and activity truly meant a lot to us and helped shape this app into what it became”

Speaking of the Samsung Max VPN app, it allowed you to shield your location and IP address. You could also select the country from which to browse the web, so you have more control over your internet connection. Thanks to incognito mode, it blocked trackers and reduced targeted ads across all your apps.

Furthermore, Samsung Max VPN provided a privacy report for easy understand privacy within apps and network connections. It also improved security on public Wi-Fi networks with a super-secure and encrypted connection.

Apart from Privacy, Samsung Max VPN served as the most advanced data savings service. The app showed updates, alerts, stats, and tips about using data on your device. This helped you prevent apps from using too much data without your knowledge. Likewise, it could compress images, videos, music files, and webpages in your apps and browser. Note that some features were part of the premium plan.
