The wait is over! Samsung has confirmed the launch date for its first Android XR headset. The company will unveil the device during a virtual event on October 21 at 10 p.m. ET. It has also opened the reservation program, allowing buyers to score $100 credit (to use toward any additional eligible product).

Samsung’s Project Moohan will bring next-level XR experiences

Samsung is calling its Galaxy event for the XR headset Worlds Wide Open. Codenamed Project Moohan, the company developed the device in collaboration with Google and Qualcomm. It runs on the Android XR platform, an operating system developed by Google for the new era of XR. Meanwhile, Qualcomm’s Snapdragon XR+ Gen 2 chip powers the headset, which is capable of running advanced AI features.

In its Newsroom post, Samsung wrote, “Project Moohan is the groundbreaking first product built for the open and scalable Android XR platform, and it seamlessly blends everyday utility with immersive new experiences. This is where the true potential of XR comes alive, unlocking a whole new dimension of possibilities”.

You can watch the event live on Samsung.com, Samsung Newsroom, and Samsung’s YouTube channel. If you’re planning to buy the Galaxy XR, visit the official reservation page to grab your exclusive $100 credit. You just need to enter your name and email to reserve the device. Note that the reservation program is open until October 20, 2025. Make sure you buy the headset between October 21 and November 16, 2025. The company will share the qualifying items for using the credit on the launch day through its official website.

Samsung’s XR headset is no longer a secret, as we already saw real-world mockups at MWC 2025 and more recently at the Snapdragon Summit. A recent report suggests the company has made significant improvements to its Galaxy XR compared to earlier prototypes. As for pricing, the headset may cost around $2,000, which is lower than the Apple Vision Pro’s $3,499. Stay tuned for launch.
