Well, Pixel users just got lucky! Pixel Screenshots rolled out exclusively for the Pixel phones, sorting out the screenshots mess. There are quite a few features packed into this update—so much so that it deserves a separate deep dive. Off late, Google realized that Pixel users don’t need a separate app for screenshots.

As a result, Google is integrating Screenshots into Gboard, Circle to Search, and Wallet. According to 9to5Google, the latest integration is rolling out with Gboard v0.24.433.15. Unfortunately for non-Pixel users, this handy feature remains exclusive to Pixel phones, so Galaxy users will have to sit this one out.
There is a workaround to run the Pixel Screenshots app on other Android devices, but whether the integrations will work remains uncertain. These features are deeply tied to the Pixel ecosystem, making them tricky to replicate elsewhere. That said, if anything new crops up, we’ll be sure to keep you in the loop.
Now, let’s get to the jealousy-inducing screenshot perks Pixel users are getting, that Galaxy users are missing out. Once you update the app to the latest version, you’ll see a new prompt. “Get suggestions in Gboard: See movie, music, product, and other text suggestions from your screenshots when searching in relevant apps,” it reads.

There’s a new Proactive Recall
Folks over at 9to5Google were quick to see the feature in motion. They report Pixel Screenshots can now recall details from your screenshots. For instance, capturing a movie, song, or product screenshot enables suggestions in relevant apps like Spotify or Amazon. Google calls this “proactive recall.”
For example, saving a Now Playing screen could trigger a Gboard autofill suggestion for the song title in YouTube Music. Similarly, a screenshot of the Pixel 9 Pro listing might suggest “Google Pixel 9 Pro” in Amazon’s search. This feature works in Android apps only, not websites. So far, the functionality is a great addition. We really hope Samsung brings these soon.
