Pixel 11 Series May Beat iPhone 18 and Galaxy S27 to Samsung’s M16 Panels
First, renders of the Pixel 11 series leaked, and now more details are emerging. The Pixel 11 lineup is expected to launch in the coming months. And it looks like it’ll beat both the iPhone 18 series and the next Galaxy phones to the punch. According to reports from Korea, the Pixel 11 series will get Samsung Display’s M16 panels before anyone else.
Pixel 11 will be the first phone to use Samsung Display’s M16 OLED panels
Korean outlet ETNews reports that the Pixel 11 series, along with the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max, will use Samsung Display’s M16 OLED panels. In fact, the upcoming iPhone Fold (which may launch as the iPhone Ultra) could also feature the same M16 panel. The current Galaxy S26 series uses M14 OLED panels.
In simpler terms, the Pixel 11 series will be the first phones to come with Samsung Display’s M16 OLED panels. Later, the iPhone 18 Pro models and the foldable iPhone are expected to adopt the same display tech. As for Samsung’s own phones, the M16 panels will likely debut in the Galaxy S27 series. It isn’t expected until early 2027, nearly a year later.
There’s still not much known about Samsung Display’s M16 OLED panels. That said, based on the company’s usual improvements, we can expect upgrades in brightness, color vibrancy, and power efficiency. While the Galaxy S27 series will be the first of Samsung’s lineup to use M16 panels, the company is also preparing at least three foldables in the coming months.
The Galaxy Z Fold 8, Galaxy Z Flip 8, and the Galaxy Z Wide Fold (tentative name) are reportedly set to launch on July 22. According to recent reports from Korea, the event could take place in London for a change. These foldables are still expected to stick with Samsung Display’s M13 OLED panels, while rival foldable iPhone may get the newer M16 panel.
