As much as everyone is excited about Galaxy Unpacked and the launch of the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Flip 7, there’s just as much buzz building around the stable release of One UI 8. At the event, Samsung is set to officially unveil One UI 8, which will come preloaded on the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Flip 7. As we draw closer to the One UI 8 launch, we’re hearing about many enticing features coming along.

One UI 8 will bring a new clock design that adapts to your lock screen photo

One of which suggests that One UI 8 will bring aesthetic improvements to the Lock screen (h/t: Toprak on X). The description reads, “A stylish clock with a new font is available to make your Lock screen stand out from the crowd. The new clock adjusts to the shape of your photo for a seamless style. Works with pictures of people or animals.”

You’ll notice a new, modern clock design with a fresh font that helps your lock screen stand out on One UI 8. What’s really cool is how the clock blends smoothly with your background photo, it actually adjusts its shape to fit the image. So if you’re using a picture of a person or even a pet, the clock curves around it naturally. It’s a small touch, but it makes a big difference in making your phone feel uniquely yours.

Before you go ahead and try it out, it’s not available in any of the beta builds just yet. There are conflicting reports on whether it’ll roll out to all One UI 8-supported devices or remain exclusive to the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Flip 7. On one of our devices running the One UI 8 BYFB build (which could end up being the stable version), we managed to get it running. However, Ice Universe claims it will be “temporarily” exclusive to the Fold 7 and Flip 7.

We don’t really know which way it’ll go in the final release. But one thing seems pretty clear. It has the potential to work just as well on other Galaxy devices, not just the Fold 7 and Flip 7. We’ll keep you posted as we learn more about which devices will officially support it.
