As the beta program of Samsung’s next OS update, One UI 8, is on the horizon, developers and enthusiasts have been revealing its features through early builds. Now there’s a chatter that Samsung is working on a new feature called Listen Brief, which could be part of the Now Brief. This feature may allow users to listen to personalized briefings created by Now Brief.

You will be able to listen to personalized briefings throughout the day

Samsung introduced Now Brief with the Galaxy S25 series as part of Galaxy AI and One UI 7, and until now, it has remained exclusive to the latest flagship series. Now Brief provides personalized information about selected content throughout the day. It displays a lot of information, such as weather, upcoming events, and reminders.

It looks like with the One UI 8 update, Samsung will further expand the capabilities of Now Brief to make it more interactive. Folks over at Android Authority recently discovered mentions of a Listen Brief button within One UI 8. The publication expects this button to point to an audio version of the Now Brief feature, allowing users to listen to a personalized summary of their morning, afternoon, or evening.

This looks to be a pretty useful feature for users who prefer listening to important updates instead of reading. For instance, users will be able to listen to their schedule and weather information while getting ready in the morning or driving. It will also come in handy for visually impaired people.

The publication also says that Samsung will offer two options for a text-to-speech engine — Samsung and Google — within the Listen Brief settings. On top of that, users will also be able to pause, play, or stop the audio briefing. We may learn more details when Samsung rolls out One UI 8 beta to the Galaxy S25 series, expected in the third week of this month.
