Just as it seemed the One UI 7.0 beta was nearing release, new reports indicate that Samsung has delayed it yet again. The latest rumor suggests the company is now targeting a mid-December launch of the beta program for the Galaxy S24 series. It’s unclear whether other models will get beta updates.

You might have to wait until Christmas for One UI 7.0 beta

Last year, Samsung updated dozens of flagship and mid-range models to One UI 6.0 before Christmas — a nice Christmas present for millions of Galaxy users worldwide. Unfortunately, it won’t repeat the feat this year. The company hasn’t even started One UI 7.0 beta, let alone rolled out the stable version.

If rumors are accurate, the beta program could be its small Christmas gift this year. Sources have told @tarunvats33 that Samsung will roll out One UI 7.0 beta in mid-December. The initial rollout should cover the Galaxy S24, S24+, and S24 Ultra in “Phase 1” countries, i.e., the US, South Korea, and Germany.

Samsung should expand the beta program to India, Poland, the UK, and China before Christmas. However, considering the long delay, we are wondering whether it will release One UI 7.0 beta updates for other devices. The firm could directly push the stable version sometime next year.

If you have been keeping tabs, Samsung confirmed last month that its Android 15 update will debut on the Galaxy S25 series. The new flagships are rumored to go official on January 22, 2025. Other models will get the update following the Galaxy S25 launch. We could be into the second half of 2025 by the time Samsung is done updating all eligible devices to One UI 7.0.

More interestingly, if that happens, Google would have already released Android 16. The company aims to drop the stable Android 16 build by June 2025. Hopefully, Samsung will be quick to bring it to Galaxy devices next year.
