Rumors suggest that Samsung may raise the prices of the Galaxy S25 series, but not across all markets. In some regions, pricing is expected to remain the same as the S24 series. A recent leak now hints at another possibility: the base variants of all three models will retain their current starting prices, while the higher storage options will see a price increase.
Galaxy S25 prices might see variable adjustments depending on the market
A few days ago, a major leak revealed the complete pricing structure for the Galaxy S25 series in India. If accurate, Samsung is increasing the prices by ₹5,000 (approx. $58) across the lineup. All storage variants for all models see the same hike. That may not be the case in Samsung’s homeland, South Korea.
According to the local media, the Galaxy S25 prices have been “frozen” in the country, but only for the base variants. In other words, the 256GB storage option for the Galaxy S25, S25+, and S25 Ultra will cost the same as their respective predecessors. The prices are KRW 1,155,000 (approx. $797), KRW 1,353,000 (approx. $933), and KRW 1,698,400 (approx. $1,171).
However, the 512GB versions of all three models will see a price hike. The reported prices for the higher storage options are KRW 1,313,400 (approx. $906), KRW 1,511,400 (approx. $1,045), and KRW 1,856,800 (approx. $1,280). This isn’t a huge increase though — KRW 25,400 (approx $18) for the Galaxy S25 and KRW 15,400 (approx. $11) for the other two models.
Interestingly, the 512GB Galaxy S25 Ultra appears to come with 12GB of RAM in South Korea. Samsung is expected to offer it with 16GB RAM in India and some other markets. There’s no word yet on the 1TB model for Korea. Maybe it’ll feature 16GB RAM, we shall find out soon.
A leaked spec sheet also suggests that the Galaxy S25 and S25+ do not have LTPO AMOLED displays. Only the Ultra boasts this advanced display technology — it is a backplane technology that allows screens to operate at variable refresh rates. Last year’s Galaxy S24 and S24+ have LTOP displays, so it’ll be a step down if true. Stay tuned for the official launch this Wednesday, January 22.
