Samsung Targets 37 Million Galaxy S25 Units In 2025

by | Dec 7, 2024 | Galaxy S, Galaxy Z, News

While all the chatter around us is about One UI 7.0, let’s not forget that Samsung will take the wraps off the Galaxy S25 series soon. If rumors are anything to go by, the company will unveil the Galaxy S25, S25+, and S25 Ultra during Galaxy Unpacked, which is set for January 22 in San Francisco.

Samsung targets 37 million Galaxy S25 series units, more than S24 series

Samsung has some high hopes for the upcoming S25 series, which is why it’s betting big. A recent report from The Elec says that Samsung is aiming for 37 million units in production for the Galaxy S25 series. This is more than the estimated 35 million units for the current Galaxy S24 series.

There’s still some uncertainty about whether this includes the rumored S25 Slim. But either way, the increase in production shows that Samsung expects the S25 series to outperform the S24. If One UI 7.0 delivers a solid user experience, this could very well be a case of… “the proof is in the pudding.” Great software is the backbone of any smartphone’s success, after all.

Samsung plans 7 million foldables in 2025

While Samsung still leads the foldable market, it’s facing stiff competition from Chinese brands. Because of this, Samsung may be planning a tri-fold device, and I’m hoping we get to see it next year.

Samsung is expected, per report, to produce about 7 million foldable phones in 2025, including older models. Of that total, the new Galaxy Z Flip 7, Z Flip FE, and Z Fold 7 could make up around 6 million units. Specifically, the Z Flip 7 will target 3 million units, the Z Flip FE 0.9 million, and the Z Fold 7 2 million.

As you can see, there’s a big gap between the production targets for the S25 series and the foldables. Why is that? Well, as cool as foldables are, they’re still a niche market.
