Gemini Now Gets Smarter With 3.5 Flash Model — Try Now

Google’s AI assistant, Gemini, has received a big upgrade, taking the AI experience to the next level. The company has integrated its new Gemini 3.5 Flash model into the assistant, combining frontier intelligence with action to offer even smarter AI capabilities. Gemini 3.5 Flash offers frontier-level intelligence to your daily life

At this year’s I/O, Google announced Gemini 3.5 Flash, its first model in the new Gemini 3.5 family. The company makes the model available for several of its products, including the Gemini app and AI Mode in Search. It offers solid performance for AI agents and coding, handling complex tasks more efficiently.

Gemini 3.5 Flash offers intelligence similar to large flagship AI models. The company says it is its strongest agentic and coding model yet, beating Gemini 3.1 Pro in several benchmark tests. These include Terminal-Bench 2.1 (76.2%), GDPval-AA (1656 Elo), and MCP Atlas (83.6%). The model delivers better multimodal understanding, responding four times faster than other frontier models.

“[Gemini] 3.5 Flash is especially good when deploying multiple agents simultaneously and completing long-running tasks with massive improvements in coding and tool use,” said Koray Kavukcuoglu, CTO of Google DeepMind and Chief AI Architect at Google. “It can independently execute complex coding pipelines or manage iterative research projects entirely by itself. We have even managed to successfully test it by having our agents build a working operating system entirely from scratch.”

You can use the Gemini app on iOS, Android, and desktop platforms to access Gemini 3.5 Flash. Once you open the assistant, you don’t need to manually switch models. The company makes the 3.5 Flash the default model. The good news is that it’s free, so you don’t need to subscribe to any AI plan.

The company says it is currently internally testing another model in the Gemini 3.5 family. Dubbed Gemini 3.5 Pro, the model will roll out to everyone in June 2026.
