Samsung has rolled out new One UI 8.5 Beta updates for its 2025 foldables. The Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Flip 7 are getting their third beta build, while it’s the second beta release for the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Flip 6. All of these devices are expected to receive the stable version in May.

Samsung pushes new One UI 8.5 Beta updates to its foldables

The latest beta release for the Galaxy Z Fold 7, Flip 7, Fold 6, and Flip 6 comes with firmware version ZZD3. Samsung has bundled the April 2026 security patch, though the update is primarily about bug fixes and enhanced stability. The official release notes confirm fixes for a bunch of issues discovered in previous beta releases.

Samsung has fixed issues across the camera, wallpaper, lockscreen, call screen, and other system elements. According to the changelog, Samsung has improved the full-screen gaming and video playback experience, resolving issues where the status bar failed to disappear. Problems with link previews in messages not displaying correctly have been addressed as well.

Additionally, the latest One UI 8.5 beta releases for Samsung’s Z6 and Z7 series foldables include fixes for keyboard failures and black screens after unfolding during video playback. Samsung also patched ANR errors when using video effects in certain situations and black background glitches when opening folders. Performance and stability see further gains with improved thermal management during gaming to reduce overheating.

The rollout begins in Korea, but the new One UI 8.5 beta updates for the Galaxy Z Fold 7, Flip 7, Fold 6, and Flip 6  should soon reach users in other regions. Samsung may begin the stable rollout for these devices in mid-May. Beta users should get the update first, followed by those on One UI 8. You can expect a few more beta builds before the stable version.
