Samsung’s next-generation foldables, the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy Z Flip 7, are set to launch next month. The company has been teasing camera upgrades that go beyond a hardware overhaul. Now, leaks suggest the devices will debut with a new AI-powered ProVisual Engine, delivering three key improvements. Samsung plans to roll out these improvements to the Galaxy S25 series with One UI 8.

Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Flip 7 to introduce three key camera improvements

First, the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy Z Flip 7 are touted to deliver sharper, more vibrant image output. The ProVisual Engine will significantly enhance photo clarity, even in low light or tricky lighting conditions. Expect sharper edges, more accurate colors, and less noise in your everyday shots. This upgrade could be especially impactful for mobile photographers who rely on their device for quick, high-quality captures.

Next, rumors suggest improved digital zoom quality. While the Fold 7 has a single 3x zoom camera, there’s no dedicated zoom hardware on the Flip 7. As such, any improvements in digital would be huge. Samsung’s new engine aims to enhance details in magnified shots, so users will enjoy clearer zoomed-in shots with better-defined textures and edges.

Last but not least, the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Flip 7’s new AI-powered ProVisual Engine may enhance video stabilization across their cameras. This would make the new foldables ideal for fast-paced scenes, vlogging, or even casual filming while walking.

All of these features are expected to roll out to the Galaxy S25 series with the stable One UI 8 update, which should arrive shortly after the Unpacked event in July. The event will likely take place in New York City on July 9, though the new One UI version may not roll out to older models until a few weeks later. Other recent flagships may also get some of these features with One UI 8.
