Galaxy Z Fold 5 Gets One UI 8.5 Beta 2

Samsung’s been on a roll lately, pushing out a wave of beta updates to eligible devices. Just a few hours ago, it started rolling out One UI 8.5 Beta 2 for the Galaxy Z Flip 5, and it looks like its older sibling, the Galaxy Z Fold 5, has joined the party too.

Both foldables picked up the first One UI 8.5 beta update over two weeks ago, and now the second one is rolling out. The second One UI 8.5 beta for the Galaxy Z Fold 5 appears to be going live (via SammyFans), though for now it may be limited to Korea, similar to the Flip 5. The build version is ZZDN.

We can’t confirm the official changelog yet, but the Flip and Fold variants usually share the same one. Assuming that’s the case, you can check out the official changelog, machine-translated from Korean to English, below.

• Improved low speaker call volume and poor audio quality during driving
• Fixed an issue where contact image and information were not displayed when making a call to a saved contact
• Fixed subtext error under the “Show brief pop-ups even when the screen is off” menu
• Fixed screen transition issue after saving a contact while the folder (cover) is closed
• Fixed operational error when launching the Camera app

That said, if you’ve already joined the One UI 8.5 beta on your Galaxy Z Fold 5 and you’re in Korea, you can check whether the update has arrived. Head to Settings > Software update > Download and install. Once the update file downloads, tap Install now. It’ll take a little time, after which your device will boot up running the latest beta build.
