Samsung is preparing for a major Unpacked event expected to take place in New York in early July. The Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy Z Flip 7 will be the primary attractions at the event, but the company may have more in store. Its next-gen Wear OS watches are likely to break cover alongside the foldable duo, including a Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 and Galaxy Watch 8 with One UI 7 Watch.

Samsung may launch the Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 running One UI 7 Watch in July

The new Galaxy Watch Ultra will reportedly feature a design similar to its predecessor but bring significant upgrades under the hood. Key improvements include increased storage capacity (Watch Ultra boasts 32GB of storage) and an updated software experience. A fresh report suggests Samsung will ship the watch with One UI 7 Watch based on Wear OS 6.

Samsung has already begun One UI 7 Watch development for the Galaxy Watch 7 and Watch Ultra. It should bring new health features, deeper Gemini integration, improved customizations, and more improvements. The company may ship the new version with the Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 and Galaxy Watch 8 in July before rolling out the update for other models.

The same report adds that the new Galaxy Watch Ultra will cost €699 in Europe, the same as the original model at launch ($649 in the US). The Galaxy Watch 8 may also carry an unchanged starting price of €349/$299.  However, Samsung may launch a Watch 8 Classic this year, featuring a physical rotating bezel. It might cost more than the priciest Watch 7 ($379).

With multiple flagship devices on the horizon, this Unpacked event is shaping up to be one of Samsung’s biggest showcases of the year. It remains to be seen if the company will unveil its affordable foldable (Galaxy Z Flip FE/Xe) at the event. The company also has a tri-fold in the pipeline, so exciting times are ahead for Samsung fans.
