Galaxy S26 Ultra’s Revolutionary Privacy Display May Reach More Devices Soon

Samsung is bringing privacy display technology to its upcoming Galaxy S26 Ultra that hides the screen from prying eyes. A similar technology could reach other high-end Android phones before the year’s end. This suggests that other smartphone makers are following the Korean firm’s path to stay competitive in screen privacy.

More Android phones could feature the Samsung-style privacy display

According to noted tipster Digital Chat Station, several Chinese smartphone makers are testing hardware-level native privacy screen technology. While they did not name specific brands, companies like Xiaomi, OPPO, and vivo are possible candidates. “A cutting-edge ‘spy screen’ technology is being tested by domestic manufacturers and is expected to be featured in new flagship phones around September this year,” said the tipster.

There’s chatter that the Xiaomi 18 series could debut in September, followed by the vivo X500 lineup and the Oppo Find X10 series in October. Could we see the privacy display solution on these models? Only time will tell. If they do, the top variants should get the feature, just as Samsung reportedly is reserving it for the Galaxy S26 Ultra.

Speaking of Samsung’s privacy display implementation, the Galaxy S26 Ultra will reportedly use a hardware-based OLED display technology called Flex Magic Pixel. This allows the display to hide content from side angles (leveraging AI) while keeping it clear for a straight view. As a result, messages, notifications, and other key information become difficult to view for shoulder surfers in public spaces. For personalization, the company also combines the hardware solution with software tweaks.

The good news is that you don’t have to wait long to experience it. Samsung will launch the flagship Galaxy S26 series tomorrow (February 25), likely opening pre-orders immediately. Meanwhile, Apple might also use similar privacy display technology for future MacBooks. So, this innovation is not limited to mobile devices and could expand to laptops as well.
