Galaxy S26’s Document Scan Feature Coming to Galaxy S25

Samsung is gearing up to bring one of its useful Galaxy S26 features to older devices. The company will make its Document Scan feature available to the 2025 Galaxy S25 lineup. While it’s unclear when the feature will roll out to users, it is good news for those who want built-in helpful productivity tools without upgrading their phones.
Document Scan won’t remain exclusive to the Galaxy S26 series
The latest Galaxy S26 series makes day-to-day life even easier, thanks to its enhanced Galaxy AI suite. The AI-powered features let you handle common tasks more efficiently, with the Document Scan tool standing out as a key practical addition. As its name suggests, you can quickly scan documents, receipts, or notes.
Since the Document Scan tool is baked into the Camera app, it removes the need to install any third-party apps. The tool can automatically detect the document, fix distortions, and remove distractions such as creases or a finger in the corner. If you come across multiple pages, you can also combine them into a single PDF instantly.
Samsung is now bringing this functionality to last year’s Galaxy S flagship lineup (via Mojotrick). An official community moderator recently said, “Document scanning support for the S25 is scheduled to be added.” However, they did not specify when the feature will arrive, but it should not take long, as the company is already testing a major software update for the device.
There is a chance the feature could ship with a possible upcoming One UI 8.5 beta build for the Galaxy S25 series. Samsung may also reserve it for the stable update, making it available to all users simultaneously.
Meanwhile, it remains unclear whether more older Galaxy devices will also get it. The Korean firm usually limits some of its AI features to premium Galaxy models. We’ll keep an eye on the upcoming update and let you know if it packs the Document Scan tool.
