Samsung’s Galaxy S25 flagships are likely to cost more than their predecessors. Several reports have hinted at a price hike for the upcoming devices. The Korean media recently reconfirmed those rumors, adding that the company will “slightly increase” the prices in the domestic market. The new flagships could get more expensive in most markets around the world.

Galaxy S25 will cost more in South Korea, and potentially other markets

Smartphone components have become much more expensive in recent years, forcing companies to hike prices. Last year, Samsung increased the Galaxy S24 prices in select markets. Another round of price hikes could be on the way. Leaks suggest the Galaxy S25 line will cost more in several global markets, including South Korea.

According to a recent Fnnews report, Samsung tried hard not to raise prices Galaxy S25 prices in its domestic market. However, it couldn’t release the new flagships at the same price as the 2024 models without substantially lowering its profit margin. The report doesn’t reveal the exact prices for the upcoming phones but suggests all three models will cost slightly more than their respective predecessors.

As far as hardware upgrades are concerned, we expect a new ultrawide camera on the Ultra model, a more powerful Snapdragon 8 Elite processor across the lineup, minor display enhancements, more RAM, stronger build quality, Wi-Fi 7 for all models, and faster wireless charging. The new flagships will also bring tons of new software tools, including advanced AI features.

Samsung has already confirmed a January 22 launch for the Galaxy S25 line — pre-reservations are now live, while pre-orders should begin on the launch day. Alongside the Galaxy S25, S25+, and S25 Ultra, the company has a Galaxy S25 Slim in the pipeline. However, the latter might only make a brief appearance at next week’s Unpacked. Its market introduction could be delayed until May.
