Galaxy S25 Slim Could Make Surprise Debut at January Unpacked

Samsung could launch the Galaxy S25 Slim sooner than expected. Its development has reportedly progressed faster than usual, so much so that it could make a surprise appearance at the next Unpacked in January 2025. The company seems to have already locked the date for the event to unveil the regular Galaxy S25 flagships.

Galaxy S25 Slim could debut alongside its siblings in January next year

Samsung may launch a slim Android flagship next year. Reports suggest the so-called Galaxy S25 Slim, aka S25 SE, will pack similar specs to the Galaxy S25 Ultra but in a slimmer profile. Details are scarce but the Korean conglomerate could reduce the battery capacity and drop S Pen support to make it possible.

The device reportedly entered development later than the regular Galaxy S25 models. As such, the S25 Slim was expected to arrive a few months after the S25, S5+, and S25 Ultra. While there hasn’t been a clear launch timeline for the phone, all reports so far suggested that Samsung won’t unveil it in January. There have been hints at it potentially arriving in the second half of 2025.

However, a fresh report from Korea suggests otherwise. It says the Galaxy S25 Slim’s development is “actually in the process of being completed” (translated from Korean). Samsung might consider unveiling it at Unpacked early next year. Recent reports say the company plans to launch the Galaxy S25 flagships on January 22, 2025. The launch event takes place in San Francisco, USA.

Samsung will launch one more Galaxy S25 model next year. The Galaxy S25 FE will be its entry-level flagship offering, bridging the gap to the Galaxy A series mid-range lineup. It should arrive in the third or fourth quarter — the Galaxy S24 FE debuted in late September this year, though sales didn’t begin until October.
