The anticipation for Samsung’s Galaxy S25 series grows with each new leak. Some rumors spark excitement, while others bring concerns or potential letdowns. The latest leak about the upcoming flagships might be thrilling or disappointing, depending on where you live. Reports suggest that Samsung is considering raising Galaxy S25 prices in select international markets while leaving prices unchanged in the US.
Samsung might increase Galaxy S25 prices in select markets
Samsung increased Galaxy S24 prices in several global markets this year. However, only the Ultra model saw a price hike in the US. The Plus and base models debuted at the same starting prices as their predecessors. It appears the next-gen models will cost the same too. Samsung is expected to price the Galaxy S25 at $799, S25+ at $999, and S25 Ultra at $1,299.
Buyers in certain regions might face higher prices, though. A recent leak suggests that the Korean firm could raise prices by up to $130 for select Galaxy S25 variants. Detailed information about the pricing structure in international markets remains unavailable. However, it appears that Samsung cannot absorb the increased cost of materials in all regions, passing it on to consumers.
All three Galaxy S25 models are expected to ship with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite processor. If leaks are accurate, the new chip costs about $40 more than its predecessor. Prices of other components have also increased lately, including the display and cameras. While Samsung is seemingly reducing its profit margin to keep prices unchanged in the US, it won’t do that everywhere.
Maybe Samsung’s profit margins in many global markets are already lower compared to the US due to tougher competition from Chinese brands. Whether the rumored Galaxy S25 price hikes are accurate remains to be seen. More importantly, if prices do increase, Samsung will need to justify the hike with significant performance improvements. Only time will tell how buyers respond.
