Samsung has finally rolled out the Galaxy S25’s first software update globally. The update, which initially debuted in South Korea and expanded to other regions, is now available in remaining markets such as India and Europe. It brings several key improvements, including camera enhancements, charging optimizations, and fixes for call-related issues. The update also contains the latest security fixes.

Galaxy S25 gets its first software update in more markets

In the first few weeks of launch, Galaxy S25 users have reported several quirky issues with their new phones. This update aims to address some of those bugs for an enhanced user experience. While Samsung has not provided a detailed changelog, the release notes in some regions confirm fixes for call, charging, and camera-related issues.

Most notably, the Galaxy S25 Ultra had a software glitch causing blurry patches or bands on low-light photos captured using the 200MP main camera. Some Ultra users also reported inconsistent charging, while all three models are affected by another bug causing call drops or audio losses during calls. The latest update addresses all of these problems across the lineup.

On top of this, the Galaxy S25, S25+, and S25 Ultra are getting the February security patch. This month’s security maintenance release (SMR) contains over 40 vulnerability patches, including one critical Android OS flaw. Users in India and Europe are receiving this update with the firmware build number S93*BXXU1AYB4. In Korea and the US, Samsung rolled out the AYB3 build.

If you are using one of Samsung’s latest flagships and still haven’t received the February update, you should soon. You can manually check for updates by navigating to Settings > Software update > Download and install.  The Galaxy S25 series supports Android’s seamless updates, allowing software installations to occur in the background on a secondary partition while the device remains operational.

Once the update is complete, the phone reboots and switches to the updated partition, reducing downtime and making the process more convenient. This feature enhances security and reliability, ensuring users can continue using their phones without waiting for lengthy update installations.
