Samsung’s Galaxy S25 series is proving to be a big hit. While sales have increased in several global markets, the phones are seeing unprecedented demand in their home country of South Korea. They have already surpassed one million units in domestic sales, achieving this milestone faster than any previous Galaxy device in history.
Galaxy S25 series delivers record-breaking sales performance
The Galaxy S25, S25+, and S25 Ultra surpassed combined sales of one million units in South Korea on February 27, Samsung revealed. The new flagships achieved the milestone in just 21 days after their official release on February 7. This marks the shortest time ever for a Galaxy series to reach this sales figure, outpacing its predecessor, the Galaxy S24 series, by a full week.
The previous record-holder was the Galaxy Note 10, which took 25 days to reach one million units sold in South Korea. The Galaxy S25 lineup shattered this record by four days, which speaks volumes about its popularity. Even before the official launch, the devices enjoyed record-breaking pre-orders in the country. Samsung received 1.3 million pre-orders in just 11 days.
While pre-order numbers don’t always translate directly into real sales, a one million sales milestone in three weeks indicates strong consumer interest. Samsung attributes the Galaxy S25’s success to its improved performance, sleek and lightweight design, and advanced personalized Galaxy AI features, which have resonated with consumers. The processor and memory upgrades also influenced purchasing decisions.
As expected, the Galaxy S25 Ultra is the pick of the lot, accounting for nearly 50% of all sales. Samsung’s New Galaxy AI Subscription Club, which offers benefits like a guaranteed 50% buyback value after one year and Samsung Care+ protection for accidental damage, also helped increase sales. One in five pre-order customers subscribed to the program, with 60% of subscribers being in their 20s and 30s.
“The Galaxy S25 series has received a positive response from consumers through its best-ever performance and design, as well as the price freeze for all models,” said Hojin Jung, an EVP at Samsung. “We will continue to expand sales through various customer benefit programs.”
