We’re inching closer to the Galaxy S25 series every day, which also means the company has to meet regulatory compliance on time. Right on schedule, the Galaxy S25+ and Galaxy S25 Ultra have now appeared in the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) database.
Galaxy S25+, Galaxy S25 Ultra make their way to India’s BIS
As spotted by the good folks at 91Mobiles, Samsung’s Galaxy S25+ and Galaxy S25 Ultra have now appeared in India’s BIS database, bearing model numbers SM-S936B and SM-S938B, respectively. As expected, there will be three phones in the Galaxy S25 lineup: the standard S25, S25+, and S25 Ultra. The word on the street is that Galaxy Unpacked, where Samsung will pull the wraps off the Galaxy S25, is set for January 22, 2024, in San Francisco.
As has often been the case, Samsung typically launches its S series flagships on the same day in India and the USA. Therefore, the appearance of these phones in India’s BIS database further confirms the leaks and speculations surrounding the Galaxy S25 launch in January.
What’s even more interesting, and consistent with previous reports, is that the model numbers for the Galaxy S25+ (SM-S936B) and Galaxy S25 Ultra (SM-S938B) match those that appeared in benchmark testing at the beginning of November.
What else is coming
The rumor mill suggests all three variants could feature a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset under the hood, replacing Samsung’s in-house Exynos chipset. This shift is both plausible and practical, especially given what’s happening at Samsung Foundry. Galaxy S25 and S25 Ultra could be available in seven colors, while the S25+ might offer up to eight. With the event knocking at our doors, it’s better to wait and see what Samsung has in store.
