Shortly after the Galaxy S25 series, Samsung’s October 2025 security patch is rolling out for the Galaxy S24 lineup. It brings fixes for several dozen vulnerabilities across Android OS and Galaxy components. Other models should receive this update in the coming days.

Samsung’s October 2025 security update arrives for the Galaxy S24 series

Like the Galaxy S25 trio, the latest security patch for Samsung’s 2024 flagship lineup is initially available in Thailand. It should expand globally over the next few days. The new firmware build version for the Galaxy S24, S24+, and S24 Ultra is CYJ1. It’s a 455MB release for the Ultra model, with the update bringing nothing more than the October SMR (Security Maintenance Release).

Samsung has already confirmed that this month’s security release for the Galaxy family addresses 34 vulnerabilities. Not every fix applies to all Galaxy models, but it does close several high-severity loopholes that could affect security and privacy. Though smaller in scope than some previous SMRs, it remains an important update for device stability.

These security fixes will gradually reach more eligible Galaxy smartphones and tablets worldwide. Some devices may receive them bundled with One UI 8. Galaxy S24 users can check for the October 2025 update through the Settings app on their phones. Go to the Software update menu and tap Download and install.

Note that your phone must be running One UI 8 to receive this patch. Samsung has already rolled out the Android 16-based update widely for the 2024 flagship trio. Looking ahead, One UI 8.5 is in development and expected to launch in early 2026, likely debuting with the Galaxy S26 series. A public beta version may arrive by late November, giving users an early look at new AI-powered and system-level improvements. Stay tuned for more updates.
