This is the first update for the handsets after the One UI 6.1.1. The brand already addressed the camera bugs of these phones in a recent update.
Galaxy S23, S23+, and S23 Ultra are getting the September 2024 security update in the States
The Galaxy S23 series’ September 2024 security update for the owners in the US was first spotted by SamMobile. The source claims that the new firmware is available for the Galaxy S23, S23+, and S23 Ultra models in the US. The firmware number of the new update is “S91xUSQS4CXHC” for the carrier-locked units. The same for the factory-unlocked models is “S91xU1UES4CXHC”.
The new update is rolling out to the Galaxy S23 series in a gradual manner. So not everyone will get it at the same time. It could take some days to reach your Galaxy S23 unit. You can manually check if the update is available for your phones by navigating to Settings > Software update > Download and Install.
The new update fixes several security vulnerabilities
September 2024 security update for the Galaxy S23 fixes 67 security vulnerabilities. These were found in the previous software version. Unfortunately, the latest update doesn’t come with any new features or performance improvements. Samsung already rolled out some major AI features for these phones with the One UI 6.1.1 update. Some of the key new features include Image, Composer, and Chat Assist.
Don’t hold your breath for the next big update for these phones, which will bring the One UI version 7. Samsung will not roll out the One UI 7 beta update anytime before December. You can check out some of the new features of the One UI 6 update by clicking this link.
