Samsung is preparing to launch several new affordable phones in the second half of this year. Alongside midrangers like the Galaxy A27, Galaxy A18, and Galaxy M47, the company is also working on two new budget models, the Galaxy M08 and Galaxy F08. Both devices have now appeared on the GSMA IMEI database, confirming their ongoing development.

Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy M08 and F08 are now in development

The Galaxy M08 and Galaxy F08 were recently spotted on the IMEI platform for the first time. The listings reveal model numbers SM-M085F and SM-E085F, respectively. The “5F” suffix suggests that these are LTE variants. On the other hand, the “DS” tag after these model numbers indicates dual-SIM support.

It is still too early to talk about official specifications. However, both devices are expected to share most of their hardware with the upcoming Galaxy A08. Based on Samsung’s previous releases, we can expect a 6.7-inch LCD screen with a 90Hz refresh rate. There may be a dual camera setup bearing a 50MP main sensor and a MediaTek chipset. Other features could include IP54-rated water resistance and up to six years of software support.

Since these are Samsung’s entry-level offerings, they will likely feature thicker bezels and a cheap-looking waterdrop notch design unless Samsung decides to be too optimistic. Overall, the Galaxy A08, Galaxy M08, and Galaxy F08 should be very similar devices. There will only be minor differences in colors, finish, and a few specifications.

Samsung could launch the Galaxy M08 and Galaxy F08 in India and other nearby markets sometime around September or October.

There is one possible downside, however. Rising manufacturing and component costs could force Samsung to increase prices for upcoming budget phones. As a result, the Galaxy M08 and Galaxy F08 may cost slightly more than their predecessors, the Galaxy M07 and Galaxy F07, despite offering similar specifications. We will keep you updated as more details emerge.
