Galaxy Glasses Could Be Just Weeks Away From Launch

The next Galaxy Unpacked will bring a lot to the show. Earlier rumors have already pointed to the Galaxy Z Fold 8, Galaxy Z Fold 8 Wide, and Galaxy Z Flip 8, along with the Galaxy Watch 9 and Galaxy Watch Ultra 2. A new report out of Korea now suggests that Samsung will also launch the Galaxy Glasses.
Samsung may launch Galaxy Glasses this July
According to a report from Seoul Economic Daily, Samsung looks set to host the Galaxy Unpacked event in London on July 22. That’s roughly two and a half months from now, and reports suggest Samsung will announce the Galaxy Glasses, which would be the company’s first AI-powered smart glasses.
The report also mentions that Samsung wants the Galaxy Glasses to be more than a basic wearable. Instead, the company aims for them to play a key role in its AI ecosystem, connecting the glasses with smartphones and the SmartThings system. The ecosystem already includes about 400 million devices worldwide and is expected to double within the year.
What else can you expect from the Galaxy Glasses
The Galaxy Glasses may feature a Qualcomm Snapdragon AR1 chipset. They could come in a lightweight design, weighing around 50 grams (1.76 oz). Beyond that, they may include a 12MP Sony camera, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.3, speakers, microphones, and possibly bone-conduction audio. They will run on the Android XR operating system, which also powers the Galaxy XR headset.
The first model may not include a display at all, similar to Meta’s Ray-Ban smart glasses, while a more advanced AR version with a built-in display could arrive later. Like you, we can’t wait to go hands-on with them when they arrive and share how they feel in real-world use.
