It’s no secret that Samsung is working on the successors to the Galaxy Buds 3 and Buds 3 Pro. In fact, the Galaxy Buds 4 and Buds 4 Pro’s model numbers were already revealed in a previous One UI 8.5 build. The latest build, however, sheds more light. And we may have just learned what Samsung is calling the Galaxy Buds 4 lineup internally.

What do you think the codenames for the Galaxy Buds 4 and Buds 4 Pro could be?

While digging through an unreleased One UI 8.5 build, Android Authority came across two interesting strings that reveal the codenames for the Galaxy Buds 4 and Buds 4 Pro. According to the outlet, the internal codename for the Buds 4 is “Handel,” while Samsung is using “Bach” for the Buds 4 Pro. Do these names ring a bell?

Galaxy Buds 4 codename

That’s a neat little Easter egg. Samsung has named the Galaxy Buds 4 and Buds 4 Pro after classical composers — Handel and Bach. Both were Baroque-era composers, born in 1685.

In case you missed it, the same outlet also revealed iconography for the Galaxy Buds 4. You can take a look to understand the potential changes in the final product when it launches. The publication also spotted the upcoming Galaxy Buds 4 and Buds 4 Pro in Buds Manager, though this offers little practical information for now.

It’s been quite some time since Samsung last refreshed its flagship earbuds lineup. The current Galaxy Buds 3 and Buds 3 Pro launched in July 2024. While Samsung has released a few other earbuds since then, the flagship series hasn’t been updated. This suggests that Samsung might be planning a Galaxy Buds 4 and Galaxy Buds 4 Pro launch in early 2026, possibly alongside the Galaxy S26 series.
