Five Samsung Phones Rank in Q1 2026 Best-Selling List

Samsung saw a solid sales performance in the global smartphone market in Q1 2026. As many as five Galaxy devices featured in the world’s best-selling smartphone list. However, none of those are flagships, though it’s no surprise.
Galaxy A series contributed greatly to Samsung’s Q1 2026 sales performance
According to data from Counterpoint Research, Samsung’s Galaxy A07 4G was the best-selling Android smartphone in Q1 2026. The phone performed well in sales across Africa, Latin America, and the Middle East. Thanks to its six years of software and security updates, it attracted buyers pursuing long-term usability.
Other Galaxy A models, including the A17 4G, A17 5G, A36, and A56, made it to the global best-selling smartphone list. Apple’s latest iPhone 17 led the chart, capturing 6% of global unit sales. Meanwhile, the iPhone 17 Pro Max and iPhone 17 Pro came in second and third, respectively. The older iPhone 16 also secured a spot in the chart. This shows robust demand for premium iPhones around the world.
Meanwhile, Xiaomi’s Redmi A5 secured the last spot in the top 10 list. It was the most affordable smartphone in the chart and maintained stable sales since its launch.
The research firm notes that the top 10 smartphones accounted for 25% of global unit sales in Q1 2026. This is the highest share recorded for a first quarter. In the coming months, the top 10 smartphone models may further expand their share of global unit sales.
“The anticipated market decline is likely to impact mass-market segments more significantly, while high-end smartphones continue to gain share,” said Senior Analyst Karn Chauhan. “In response, OEMs are shifting focus toward premium portfolios, prioritizing value over volume.”
It is worth mentioning that the newly launched Galaxy S26 series also saw stronger initial sales compared to its predecessor. However, since the 2026 flagships did not have a complete Q1 sales period due to their delayed launch, they barely missed the list. It will be interesting to see whether the Q2 chart features Galaxy S26 models.
