OpenAI has unveiled ChatGPT Pulse, a feature that transforms the way users start their day with AI. Instead of waiting for questions, Pulse proactively serves up personalized updates, reminders, and insights drawn from your chats, preferences, and connected apps. For Galaxy users, the concept may sound familiar, as it closely mirrors the spirit of Samsung’s Now Brief.

ChatGPT Pulse is similar to Now Brief on Galaxy devices

ChatGPT Pulse is an AI-powered “morning briefing” that greets users with a visual feed of digestible cards summarizing their day. Instead of waiting for user prompts, Pulse works overnight to analyze recent chats, memory, settings, and connected services like Gmail or Google Calendar.

By morning, it presents a curated update highlighting schedules, priorities, conversations, and even personalized recommendations, essentially serving as an intelligent daily launchpad. The result is a contextual snapshot that adapts over time, becoming more useful with every interaction. Users can shape tomorrow’s Pulse through feedback, likes/dislikes, and custom curation.

The concept is similar to Now Brief on Galaxy devices. Introduced with One UI 7 earlier this year, Now Brief offers concise updates like weather, news, and calendar reminders at a single glance. It serves as a personalized information hub based on your interests, activities, and time of day. ChatGPT Pulse evolves that same philosophy with modern AI capabilities.

After keeping it exclusive to the Galaxy S25 series for a while, Samsung recently started expanding Now Brief to more devices with the One UI 8 update. The tool also now integrates information from more apps and services, giving you tailored recommendations.

ChatGPT Pulse, meanwhile, is currently available in preview for ChatGPT Plus users. “This preview helps us learn, iterate, and improve before rolling it out to Plus users, with the goal of making it available to everyone,” the company said. Expect a wider rollout in the coming months.
