Breaking! One UI 7 Stable Update Available for US Galaxy S22 Units

Samsung has begun a global rollout of the One UI 7 stable update for the Galaxy S22 series. After an initial release in Korea earlier this week, the update is now available in the US. It should soon start showing up for users in other international markets.

Galaxy S22 series grabs the One UI 7 update in the US

As of this writing, Samsung is rolling out One UI 7 to carrier-locked Galaxy S22, S22+, and S22 Ultra in the US. The update is currently available on select networks, but it shouldn’t be long before the remaining carriers pick it up. Samsung should also soon release One UI 7 for factory-unlocked Galaxy S22 units across the nation.

This update for the 2022 Samsung flagships carries the firmware build number FYDB. While the OTA file size varies depending on the model and carrier, expect a massive download. It weighs nearly 4.6GB for the Galaxy S22+. The package also includes the April security patch addressing 60 vulnerabilities, though we are more interested in One UI 7.

This is Samsung’s Android 15 update for the Galaxy family. Ideally, it should have arrived in late 2024 or early 2025 for the Galaxy S22 series. However, for reasons best known to Samsung, the release was delayed until April 2025. The rollout finally began earlier this week for the 2022 flagship lineup. As usual, Korean users got it first, followed by the US.

Samsung will soon roll out One UI 7 for the Galaxy S22 series in the rest of the world. The update brings a UI overhaul, new AI-driven experiences, camera upgrades, smoother system animations, new customization options, and many other enhancements. If you use an eligible model, watch out for a notification in the coming days. Depending on your model and region, you may have to wait until June or July to receive One UI 7.
