Samsung’s 2021 foldables have started receiving the One UI 6.1.1 update. The company has released the latest feature update for the Galaxy Z Flip 3 and Fold 3. It’s unclear if the Galaxy S21 series, which arrived a few months earlier than these foldables, will pick up One UI 6.1.1.
Galaxy Z Flip 3 and Fold 3 grab the One UI 6.1.1 update
Samsung has been rolling out One UI 6.1.1 to Galaxy devices since early September. The company first pushed the new version to its 2024 flagships and slowly expanded to older models. It’s now done updating all eligible devices from the last three years and has shifted the focus to the 2021 lineup. The Galaxy Z Flip 3 and Fold 3 are getting the update.
So far, the One UI 6.1.1 rollout has begun in South Korea, Samsung’s home country, for all models. However, it’s not the case this time around. The big feature update is rolling out to the 2021 foldable duo in Europe, India, and select other markets. It should soon be available in the rest of the world, including the US. You can always check for updates from the Settings app on your phone.
The global version of the Galaxy Z Flip 3 is picking up the firmware build number F711BXXU9IXH9. It’s F926BXXU8IXH9 for the Fold 3. The build number may vary depending on your region but expect a huge update (weighing over 2GB) with plenty of stuff. This update brings new AI tools, camera features, multitasking enhancements, and tons of other improvements.
Samsung originally introduced these goodies with the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Flip 6, which arrived in July running One UI 6.1.1. Some new tools aren’t compatible with older models, but the Galaxy Z Flip 3 and Fold 3 still get plenty of new features. Alongside the One UI 6.1.1 goodies, Samsung’s 2021 foldables are receiving the September security patch. It contains fixes for 67 vulnerabilities, including a critical one.
