Samsung’s preparations for the next major One UI upgrade are finally showing movement. The first One UI 8.5 beta build for the Galaxy S25 lineup has been spotted on official servers, confirming that internal testing has reached an advanced stage. A public beta release may follow soon. One UI 8.5 will officially debut with the Galaxy S26 series in early 2026.

Galaxy S25’s One UI 8.5 beta build spotted on Samsung’s servers

One UI 8.5 leaks have been floating on the web for a while now, revealing a plethora of new features and enhancements Samsung has in the pipeline. Now, the first beta build for the Galaxy S25 lineup has surfaced on its servers. The firmware traces originate from Samsung’s Korean servers, but more countries are expected to join soon. The company is unlikely to limit the One UI 8.5 beta program to its home country.

Speaking of which, earlier leaks pointed toward a late-November beta rollout for the Galaxy S25 series, but that window has already slipped. Samsung may be pushing back the Galaxy S26 launch itself, and with it, the One UI 8.5 beta schedule. That would explain the delayed public availability, despite the internal firmware having been in testing for weeks.

The first beta build carries firmware version ZYKP. Samsung has developed beta firmware for the Galaxy S25, S25+, and S25 Ultra. There is no corresponding beta firmware for the Galaxy S25 Edge, suggesting that the company may skip a beta program for the slim model. The device hasn’t sold enough, so Samsung likely doesn’t expect active beta participation from many S25 Edge users.

As said, One UI 8.5 is expected to make its formal debut on the Galaxy S26 series before Samsung releases it to older models. The update brings refreshed UI elements, new system animations, deeper AI integration, and other refinements. With the first test builds now appearing behind the scenes, the One UI 8.5 roadmap is finally taking shape. Stay tuned for the public beta rollout.
