Best Buy has announced updates to its My Best Buy membership program, introducing a new rewards system and revising pricing across its paid tiers. The changes affect both My Best Buy Plus and My Best Buy Total, while the standard membership will remain free with basic benefits.

My Best Buy Plus is now cheaper but you’ll have to pay more for the Total

The free My Best Buy tier continues to offer standard shipping at no cost with a simple email signup. Paid tiers provide additional perks such as free two day shipping, exclusive pricing, member only deals, and extended return windows on most products, making them more attractive for frequent shoppers.

My Best Buy Memberships

Best of all, My Best Buy Plus is receiving a permanent price cut from $50 to $29.99 per year. Best Buy says the change will take effect on June 4, although the updated price is already visible on its official signup page. The plan focuses on value, offering faster shipping and access to exclusive sales.

On the other hand, My Best Buy Total is set to become more expensive. The plan currently costs $179.99 per year but will increase to $199.99, likely starting June 4. Total includes all Plus benefits along with product protection plans, 24/7 tech support, and discounts on repairs and services.

Both paid tiers will gain access to a new rewards system beginning June 4. Members will earn 1 percent back on eligible purchases, while those using the My Best Buy Credit Card can earn up to 6 percent. Rewards tracking will be available through a digital hub on the website and app.
